The Nepal-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NFCCI) promotes economic, commercial and industrial cooperation between Nepal and France.
The concept was initiated in early 1996 by the Embassy of France and Mr. Shyam Mohan Shrestha, Head of Air France in Nepal.
It was inaugurated by Mr. Daniel Dupont, the Ambassador of France to Nepal, in November 1996, with the participation of Nepalese businesspersons and industrialists.
In parallel, the France-Nepal Chamber of Commerce was initiated in Paris under the leadership of H.E. Mr. Maurice Herzog, the first summiteer of Annapurna I and former Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports in France.
With the creation of these institutions, they played an important role in bridging the Nepalese and French business communities, especially at a time when internet-based communication was still in its early stages of development.
NFCCI organized trade promotion expos in Paris, while its French counterpart brought various French trade delegations to Nepal to enhance bilateral business relations.
